Egg Freezing (Mature Oocyte Cryopreservation)

Freezing a woman’s unfertilized eggs is one of the more recent and most significant advances in modern fertility treatment.  Egg freezing was still considered experimental until January of 2013. Rapid freezing techniques such as vitrification changed the success of the egg freezing procedure and has made it now  a routine clinical procedure. Egg freezing helps women preserve their fertility when they are facing advancing reproductive age and treatments that are toxic to eggs such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy for various cancers. In our center, we have been using the rapid freezing techniques with great success for several years in order to help women preserve their fertility.
